On with the last days of our journey as Cadets, I cannot absorb the fact that days from now, we will be hailed as Lieutenants and Inspectors of the Tri-Bureau. It is as if yesterday was just the time I was preparing myself for the Reception Rites, and today the end of our journey comes near. The Cadetship Program molded me and eventually built me into becoming who I am today, a refined individual ready to take on the new challenges of tomorrow.

Life, in all forms and ways, is a struggle that every people endure[1]. It is a torment of survival that one should accomplish to attain a good life. Here inside the Academy, our way of living differs from the outside. We follow specific instructions and the changes in the routine and adapt to any given situation without a single word uttered. This instills in us the essence of obeting to every legal order given to us. We are following for the improvement of ourselves, and we are not bound to follow illegal orders that risk our lives and our people.

Our enemy is not the one who surrounds us. It is yourself, and only you will determine your chances of survival. In becoming a subordinate, the only rule for survival is obeying. Follow orders no matter how vague, but some exemptions test your critical thinking and the significance of your capabilities in weighing different situations and outcomes. In becoming an upperclassman, set an example, guide your people, and mold them to become refined individuals as you are.

The remaining days here will be the days I will treasure and build relationships. I will motivate my people by giving inspirational messages and constantly reminding them to do right. Every time I wake up to face new challenges is a reminder that our days are fading near and our lives will be changed as new officers of our country.

I learned to socialize with my fellow cadets, talk about their lives outside, and hang out with them. They already became part of my family. We established the real essence of being an older brother to them. They can share their problems, and we will not hesitate to help them no matter what it is because that is what we are, brothers and sisters of this institution tightened by the bonds of the Cadetship Program.
