The Team Leader role is highly sought after, he is in charge of a unit or company, and the other members look to them for the correct analysis of a situation in the field. They wait patiently for him to give the appropriate order so they can carry it out. The judgment of the Team Leader will make the difference between everyone going home safely and a bloody massacre[1].

Having second thoughts, being undecided, or making an incorrect decision is not the characteristics of a leader because they result in fatalities. Not everyone is equipped for the job, and not everyone is qualified to lead a team. A completely fearless Team Leader could kill the rest of his soldiers if bravery were the only standard. If only tactical expertise were required, he could create an excellent battle plan and instruct the rest of his men to carry it out while he remained in the back. He could put his team in jeopardy quickly if he were to decide without carefully weighing the risks.
In whatever he does, is the Team Leader always the best? Does he consistently do better than the other team members? The quick response is no. His responsibility is to be straightforward and clear: what the team accomplishes or fails to perform. As a team, all members who work for him rise and fall with him. No one else is at fault, and there is no defense that he might abandon his accountability to his men.
Their main job is no joke, they carry the lives of their men and their family's future, and within their hands lies the hope for their future. That pressure on the back of a Team leader is scrutinizing to others, but to us, we are trained to become one. We are molded and trained to be ready for those challenges, to become Team Leaders in character and handling responsibility.
It is relatable to what we are experiencing as a cadet. The real essence of having a team leader in the field is to give him authority over his men. Senior members of the Corps of Cadets should act as team leaders for they have a vital role in our society. The entire success or failure of any operation will depend on the leader's capability to think. Among the members of the team, they are the ones who are expected to lead. They are considered to have the best knowledge and are the best at decision-making.
